Yellows Pegged Back as Bradford Claim Late Point
Buckland Athletic saw their impressive six game winning streak come to an end as they let go of a two goal lead to be denied three points at the death by visiting Bradford Town.
Lloyd Gardner put the hosts ahead after 18 minutes, from the penalty spot, and that one goal divided the sides by the half way mark. A mid-point Twitter poll on the Buckland page saw that most people – over 80% – expected a Yellows win and Buckland duly went two up as Gardner tucked away another penalty kick, high, powerful and to the right of Jamie Bartlett in the Bradford goal.

Then, with 75 minutes on the clock, the visitors were awarded a spot kick of their own and Alex Monks did the necessary from 12 yards. The next drama saw Jared Lewington given his marching orders with his second yellow of the afternoon and suddenly the 6% who voted on a draw were in with a shout of calling it right. 90 minutes came and went with the home side almost over the line when Monks struck to win Bradford a point.
