United Captain Luke Young produced a stunning free kick from 35 yards in the 90th minute to settle an entertaining fixture at the new Laura Windows Stadium on Tuesday night and to extend the Gulls unbeaten run to nine.

Torquay United returned to their newly named home The Laurna Windows Stadium and continued from where they had left off after two tough away games with another win and three points and extended their unbeaten run to nine games.

The first Half was a very tight affair with both sides having a good share of possession but unable to find the final killer ball to unlock some solid defensive work.

Torquay started brightly with some great passing and movement, showing the confidence from their current eight game unbeaten run but the final ball was not quite there and Woking slowly grew in confidence and started to push the ball around themselves and created a few good chances.

Woking midfielder Joey Jones had the best effort right on the stroke of half time when his driving run and spectacular strike from 20 yards whistled over the top of Martin Rice’s goal. Jones was at the heart of the Woking attempts with a massy run into the box moments earlier only to see his shot blocked before being cleared by the United defence. Former United forward Scott Randell also went close in the first half, as did a direct free kick from Giuseppe Sole.

The Gulls survived a sperited spell from the visitors before coming back into the half and creating their own chances, best of which fell to Chapell who found himself unmarked on the edge of the area but his spin and shot was easily saved by Worner in the Woking goal.

After the break Hargreaves men started in the same fashion as in the first 45 minutes, quick movement and passing, unlocking the Woking back line in the 47 minute when Chappel cut in from the left and hit his right footed shot straight into the keeper.
