Torquay United’s busy Christmas campaign started with defeat at the Launa Windows Stadium on Boxing Day afternoon. Goals from Matt Taylor and Neal Trotman gave Rovers all three points, with United’s sole reply coming via an own goal from the visitors keeper Fabian Speiss, following a deflected strike by Courtnry Cameron. United also had a 94th minute equaliser by substitute Elliot Benyon ruled out for off side by the referees assistant.
Chris Hargreaves made four changes from his starting eleven that travelled to Braintree with Seabright, Berry, Young and Cameron all coming into the side.
Defeat drops the Gulls to 10th in the league with their next fixture away at Welling United on New Years Day.
