Spurs Eye Double Win in Friday Tots Derby
It’s derby day in the South West Peninsula Division One East tomorrow night as Newton Abbot Spurs host Totnes and Dartington at the Rec (7.30 Kick-Off). And there is more than local pride at stake with brothers Chris and Tim Porter managing Spurs and Tots respectively.
A run of three successive league wins for Spurs ended a week ago last Wednesday as St Martins enjoyed a 3-0 victory at the Rec but a home win will see them move back up in to the top three and only two points behind leaders Crediton United.
Tots are currently struggling in the bottom half but had been unbeaten in two before they suffered a 4-2 reverse at home to Appledore last weekend.
Spurs will be looking to complete the double over their South Devon rivals after having edged Tots 2-1 at the Foxhole Ground on the 30th August.
