Snell and Gosling Reunite at Bovey
Cyril Gosling and Neil Snell led Buckland Athletic Reserves to the SDFL Premier title in the 2014/15 season but the pair are now back at Bovey Tracey with Snell taking on the assistant manager role.
The duo will have plenty to work on though after the Moorlanders shipped eight at home to high-flying Torridgeside on Wednesday night. It all started so well for the home side with Callum Livingstone crossing for striker Josh Moore to head home but once the North Devon side got into their stride there was no stopping them. A tap in from a low cross drew the visitors level before a 25-yard dipper put them in front just after the half hour mark. A fluent move ended in another goal for Torridgeside before the break but it could have been worse had Jamie Bradley not pulled off a fourth penalty save in three games to keep the score at 3-1.
After the break, Harry Stevens completed his hat-trick, finishing well after disappointing home defending, and then set his side up for goal number five shortly afterwards. A volley from a free-kick put Torridgeside 6-1 up and they managed another two goals before the whistle to complete a magnificent eight.
Mid-table Bovey have had a mixed bag of results of late with impressive results against some of last season’s strongest sides but losses in the League Cup and at Sidmouth and Axminster:
