Lewington Hits Hat-Trick for Five Star Bucks
Front man Jared Lewington became the first Buckland first team player to claim a match ball this season as he put away a hat-trick in Tuesday night’s entertaining 5-2 home win over Somerset side Wells City.
Lewington hit his fourth of the season 16 minutes in before giving Buckland a two goal advantage with his second. But Wells hauled themselves back into the match and almost grabbed an equaliser before the break, hitting the bar five minutes before the whistle.
The next two goals came from the penalty spot, Wells drawing level but when Lloyd Gardner was sent sprawling in the box Gavin Hammon stepped up to notch his seventh of the season and edge the Yellows ahead once more. Hammon then set up Lewington for his hat-trick goal before substitute Charlie Johansen took a great touch before firing home his first of the campaign for goal number five.

The win puts Buckland joint top on points along with unbeaten Bristol Manor Farm, who won 1-0 at Shepton Mallet on Tuesday night, and Willand Rovers who hammered Clevedon Town 5-0 on Wednesday evening.
